Vitaly Kalashnik

Contemporary painter Vitaly Kalashnik was born in 1978 in the city of Atbasar, Kazakhstan. He originally trained as an architect while studying at the Ural Academy of Architecture and Art (Yekaterinburg).

His works are documentation and studies of everyday life. “I consider my work a sort of illustrated diary of my life”. The aesthetic of his work was originally influenced by painters Cézanne, Picasso, Kandinsky, Dali and Basquiat, but now he states that “I am now only inspired by my own life and the world around me”.

Vitaly also works as a digital designer and has produced artwork for major Russian media companies. However, he is currently pursuing his career as a painter on a full-time basis.

An active member of the creative community, Vitaly has exhibited extensively throughout Russia, including the Festival of Young Artists of the Urals (2000).

Vitaly works from his home studio in Moscow, Russia and is available for commission upon request.
