Akos Juhasz

Community, inclusivity and participation are methodologies at the heart of the creative practice of large-scale mural artist Akos Juhasz (AKOS).

AKOS has over 20 years of experience in producing large scale public and private artworks. Throughout this time, he has developed an unparalleled ability to bring into focus and visualise the core values and assets of a community or business. History, the natural environment, people and their stories are all woven together in large scale tapestries that tell the remarkable stories of community, where they have been, and where they are going. His work transcends aesthetics, they are not just projects of beautification, but public pillars of strength, pride and positivity.

Originating from Hungary, AKOS apprenticed under artists such as Jeno Kishonti (1987-89) and Andras Szunyoghy (1989 - 2013). He is classically trained in the techniques of the European Masters and is highly accomplished with many forms of media.

In addition to his creative practice, AKOS also works as a guest lecturer and has been invited to speak at universities and cultural institutions including Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and Theba Art Academy. He also regularly hosts creative workshops.

AKOS currently resides on the Fraser Coast, Australia and is available for commission upon request.
