Shalini Srinivasan

The artwork of contemporary Australian artist Shalini Srinivasan is an expression of the feminine spirit. Her works examine and explore the subjective nature of beauty, as well as vulnerability and self-awareness.

Her artwork is strongly influenced by the whimsical and ethereal artwork of Amy Sol, Tara McPherson, Audrey Kawasaki and Tanya Shatseva and the intricate fantasy works of Arthur Rackham and Josephine Wall. Of her practice, Shalini states “My paintings are raw and intuitive, I steep my characters in vivid colours and patterns created with ink, I then apply oil paint to refine their details. My works are almost always painted on canvas.”

Shalini currently resides in rural Victoria, Australia and has recently completed an exhibition in the state’s capital city of Melbourne. She is available for commission upon request.
