Isabella Penner
Life and culture are at the heart of the subject matter of contemporary artist Isabella Penner. The artist examines and responds to her natural surroundings and the culture that makes up the fabric of society. In particular, the vibrant, colourful and energetic culture of South America captivates and inspires her imagination.
Penner describes her work to be vibrant, frequently using pattern and contrast throughout her pieces. Her aesthetic is influenced by her time spent living in Bolivia. “I lived in Bolivia for a significant amount of my youth, and it was here that I fell in love with the use of colour and the influence art has on people, community and culture.”
Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas, as well as ink on paper.
