Seong-Gu Lee

The human form is the primary subject matter of contemporary Korean sculptor Seong-Gu Lee. Via his sculptures, he reflects and comments on the inner struggles faced by men and women throughout time. “It is not that human beings themselves have changed but that the surrounding environment and cultural elements have significantly changed. Whether ancient man or modern, I don’t think their basic desires or inner worlds are much different.” Lee’s vast portfolio of metallic sculpture question life, existence, and “the unattainable goal of the artist to obtain immortality.”

Seong-Gu’s works are part of local and international private collections. He currently resides in the Republic of South Korea and is available for commission upon request.
