Tanya Alaluusua

“I’m a mother of three sons, and I live in Raisio, Finland. I’ve always been interested in arts, and I’ve painted since 2012 when I discovered acrylic paints. Acrylics are still my favourite media to use. I took art lessons at a local institute for three years and subsequently taught myself. 

My art is very feminine and features beautiful subjects. Many people have described it as ‘intense and spiritual’, just like me. I enjoy experimenting with colour palettes, and my work either features magic and bright colours or black and white with a twist. You can see a woman’s touch in every piece. Gold, silver and sparkles are often used in my works. I paint by listening to my intuition - even if I work from a picture, I include a personal twist. I find inspiration in children and their limitless imagination, where anything is possible. 

I’ve hosted exhibitions in Finland and in October 2019 I participated in a show at the Brick Lane Gallery in London. Charity is close to my heart, and I believe we should all make a difference in this world. I have donated work to an art auction for Tuulispää, a Finnish animal protection centre. 

Dreams don’t have to limit in reality; they can fly. I think that people should do what makes time stop while your soul is dancing. I hope this shows through to you in my works because this is pure love!”
