Anton Lefabi
The subject matter of European artist Anton Lefabi is an exploration of repetition, obsession, sacrifice and irony. Of his work, Anton states “it is based on a conceptual modus operandi which manifests itself in various thematic work series. One of them develops the pathos-free obsession concerning the events and consequences of 9/11. The Matières series – one of my long-term projects - deals with the artistic and philosophic examination of time and temporality”. For Lefabi, the suitable form of expression is defined by the idea’s inherent mindset, be it drawing, painting, installation, sculpture or performance.
Lefabi graduated in architecture from La Cambre-Horta in Brussels, Belgium, and currently works and lives in Vienna, Austria. He recently exhibited several new works from his Matières series, as well as compositions attached to his new series, G-BITTE, at a seventh district gallery in Vienna.
