Eléa Hohweiller

Artist Eléa Hohweiller uses her art as a lens that offers viewers of her work a scintillating perspective into her thoughts, feelings and personality. Considering herself someone who has lived in the shadows of social expectations, Hohweiller sees the act of painting as inducing a deep state of self-consciousness that allows for profound contemplation among the abstract spaces she conjures.

Hohweiller earned a degree in Law as well as Marine Science at the University of Antwerp. She then studied briefly at the Royal Art Academy in Antwerp but then began teaching herself. Hohweiller is currently based in Brussels, Belgium, and has enjoyed recent success in the showcase of her work. In addition to participating in the “Second Life of Materials Road” in Paris (2016), Hohweiller has enjoyed exhibiting her work at Eeklo in Belgium and the Expo in Eindhoven (both 2017). She is represented by Gallery Pjez Unik (Antwerp).

Eléa is available for commission upon request.
