Monica Martin
Transformational and energetic, are the words that visual artist Monica Martin uses to describe her work. “I work with watercolour and glitter; allowing me to create an ethereal look and a flow of energy that runs between all the characters in my artwork.”
Monica has obtained a degree in Visual Arts, Multimedia from Evora University, Portugal.
The early twentieth-century art movement, Fauvism, is a significant influence on her work. “I always resonated with their expressive brushstrokes and raw use of colour.” Composer Hans Zimmer and as well as fantasy cinema and literature also feed into her work. “I’ve been drawn to the world of fairytales and fantasy since I was a child, and I have always been a romantic at heart.”
Currently residing in Algarve, Portugal, Monica continues to produce compelling fantasy inspired artwork. She is available for commission upon request.
