Yaebeen Melinda Kim
Melinda Kim is a freelance illustrator known for creating dreamy and colourful artworks. Her goal is to give people a space to pause and meditate upon her artworks and to evoke pleasant feelings in the viewer.
She currently resides in Incheon, South Korea. After attending high school in the United States, she returned to Korea to work in a fashion advertising agency and to enrol at Seoul Digital University to major in visual design.
Melinda has collaborated with a Korean singer to create three of their album covers and also has experience designing logos. Her work is characterised by her deliberate use of colour, designed to awaken and enthral. She often uses digital tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and SketchBook, but her creative practice originated in traditional media such as oil colours, acrylics, ink, pastels and paper collage.
