Kristen McGriff
Kristen is an illustration and type whiz, with a love for fun and whimsical design. Her bold, eye-catching illustrations tell stories with an emotional centre. She has been passionate about design since she was young; wanting to be a fashion designer when she was growing up.
She studied at the University of Kansas, where she found her true passion and drive for design. Kristen’s most significant creative influence is her university professor and fellow KU alum, Tad Carpenter, a designer and illustrator she credits with igniting and encouraging her interest in design. Another key influence is ‘Creative Pep Talk’ podcaster and illustrator Andy J. Miller, whose aspirational artwork and perspective on a creative career have motivated Kristen.
She resides in her lovely home in San Francisco working for Hatch, a design studio specialising in food packaging design and branding. Kristen is available for freelance commissions and has also curated her own gallery show with the theme, Outside is Your Playground. She keeps herself busy by taking care of her three birds and travelling all across the country.
