Alex Slugoski
Alex Slugoski (also known as Abstract Lexi) is an illustrator and painter currently residing in Edmonton, Canada. She attended Pixel Blue College and graduated with a diploma in 2D Animation and Illustration. Her work is described as modern, creative, surrealistic and refined. She often finds inspiration in all forms of media; however, music, cartoons and the lo-fi aesthetic are all significant influences on her work.
Her pieces often depict surreal ideas coupled with cool-toned colour palettes. The resulting work reveals a contrast between the world we live in and the fictional one she creates. Balancing her love for both traditional (acrylic painting) and digital art, she uses the mediums as a way to tell stories and emote feelings of warmth, sadness and nostalgia.
