Kieran de Wet

Leaving school after the 11th grade to pursue a career in comics (only to discover there was no comic book industry in Perth, Australia), Kieran de Wet enrolled in a short course studying graphic design.

He’s glad he did because that course would lead him to the beautiful world of art and design.

Relocating to Melbourne, he finished his degree in graphic design at LCI Melbourne, provided illustrations for SciFi Now magazine and educational publisher, the English Experience while co-founding Heavy Youth, a studio producing comics and graphic design work.

With training in traditional fine art, his recent work has shifted to digital illustration. Inspirations include Vlad Rodriguez, Alex Maleev, Clayton Crain, and the incomparable Paula Scher.
