Japanese illustrator SUYASUYARI currently resides in Kyoto. He has a fluid approach to his creative practice, and his illustrations aim to ask the viewer a compressed question. He finds inspiration in the work of contemporary artists, utomaru, Stan Lee, Banksy and Alfred Adler.

In addition to his freelance practice, SUYASUYARI is currently studying illustration and design at Kyoto University of the Arts. Notable client projects include designing a jacket and producing music video illustrations for Japanese band, layrusloop and creating a logo illustration for the Kyoto University of the Arts School Festival. SUYASUYARI was also involved in the work of Japanese artist Sebastian Masuda.

In December 2019 he held his first solo exhibition in Osaka, Japan.

“Since I was a child, I’ve been interested in entertainment such as manga, movies and animation. I wanted to entertain people who also appreciate them through illustrations, and that’s why I majored in illustration at college. Nowadays, I am trying to mix up satirical and philosophical elements in my works. I continue to enjoy creating meaningful works that also entertain the viewer.”
