Jazzmin Imani

Jazzmin Imani is an artist, student and activist living in Brooklyn, NY. She currently studies visual arts and cognitive neuroscience at Brown University. Her artwork uplifts women of the African and Latinx diasporas by celebrating their bodies without the betrayal, appropriation, and violence that she and other Afro-Latina women have faced. Her vibrant pieces have earned her eighteen regional and five national awards. Recently, Jazzmin also wrote, illustrated, and self-published her first children’s book, When Art is Loved. As a result, she was invited to speak with students at schools across the East Coast. Jazzmin’s ability to create is her way of speaking to others, and whether she does so through painting, illustration, or sculpture, her art is her message.
